“Step up and deliver”: Time for gun Hawks recruit to make a statement
David King has put the heat on Tom Barrass to prove to everyone why Hawthorn was so desperate to get him across in the off season.
The key defender made the high-profile switch from West Coast during the off-season with the Hawks giving up a future first, second and third-round pick for his services.
The Eagles best and fairest winner and premiership player has had a solid start to life in brown and gold, however, King believes now is the time for him to take his game to the next level.

“My in the gun this week is Tom Barrass because if you are going to give up what you’ve given up to get this guy, he has to be the reason you win games,” King said on SEN's Fireball.
“He’s averaging six intercepts a week which is outside the top 20 in the competition, he’s averaging two and a half intercept marks a week which is outside the top 15.
“He needs to stand up, he needs to be the reason now in the back half of the season they start winning games.
“We give them a couple of months to find their feet and settle into a new system and new surrounds, now it’s time to step up and deliver and be the reason the Hawks win games.”
Barrass will face his toughest test since moving across from Western Australia when the Hawks take on Brisbane at the MCG on Saturday evening.
