Ardie Savea is reportedly heading to the Blues on a one-year deal, with the All Blacks star set to make Auckland his Super Rugby home for the 2027 season.
The All Blacks captain had been expected to return to Moana Pasifika after spending 2026 with Japan’s Kobelco Kobe Steelers, but the club’s departure from Super Rugby Pacific left his playing future in New Zealand uncertain.
According to NZME, Savea will strap up his boots for the Blues as part of his preparations for the All Blacks’ World Cup campaign.

After a dislocated shoulder brought his season to an early end during the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour in South Africa, Savea has been teasing an announcement about his Super Rugby future on social media.
Blues chief executive Karl Budge has also previously confirmed the club’s interest, while saying a deal had not yet been completed.
