The Melbourne Stars are the only undefeated team in the Big Bash having continued their hot start to the BBL15 season with a win over the Adelaide Strikers.
The Stars cruised to a six wicket run at Adelaide Oval, with Marcus Stoinis hitting the winning runs with 11 balls remaining.
Matt Short led the way with the bat for the Strikers, notching 56 runs off 42 on his side’s way to 155/8 after their 20 overs.
Injury concerns rose for Marcus Stonis during the Strikers’ innings, with the captain clutching at his shoulder after a fielding attempt. Stoinis attempted to get Jamie Overton to take back the run conceded in the play as he lay on the ground.
However, he managed to play on and finish the game without major worries.
Tom Curran was the standout with the ball, taking three wickets on his way to a man of the match performance.
The Stars never seemed to really struggle with the run chase, losing four wickets on their way to the total of 161.
Sam Harper recorded a half century, nabbing 55 of 36, while a 22-ball 32 from Marcus Stoinis ultimately got the Stars home.
Glenn Maxwell failed to fire with the bat, dismissed by Hasan Ali for two off four balls.
