Cummins excited about pink ball challenge despite selection delay

Australian Test Captain Pat Cummins admits he is unsure about how the final eleven will look ahead of the 3rd and final Test against the West Indies.
While the side has already retained the Frank Worrell Trophy, having won the first two test matches in convincing fashion, theyâll look to make it a clean sweep.
It will be a tough challenge with Australia, with the 3rd Test against the West Indies being the first that the side will play a pink ball Test match as the away team.
With this, Cummins has taken a different approach for his team announcement compared to the previous two test matches, deciding to wait until the coin toss to reveal the side.
âWeâve still got a day out,â he told SEN Cricket. Â
âSo, weâll have another day to have a think and look at the wicket and come with a team at toss time.â
Cummins also added that he found the situation of playing their first pink ball test away from home quite exciting for his side, given the unpredictable nature of a day-night test match.
âIt seems it can be quite a different game from a normal test match,â Cummins said.
âYou play under lights, a different ball that weâve never used, so itâs kind of hard to know how exactly (it will play) with more variables unknown.
âWeâll hadnât seen a pink Dukes ball till two days ago and itâs been kind of exciting and itâs always good going into a Test match not exactly knowing how itâs going to play out.â Â
Australia will begin the third test against the West Indies at Sabina Park in Kingston on Sunday at 4:30 am (AEST).
