Cornes and King make shock Brownlow picks

The 2025 Brownlow Medal race is heating up as we enter the last two rounds of the home and away season.
Collingwood’s Nick Daicos is the current favourite at $3 with Sportsbet, but a couple of poor weeks for the Magpies have seen him come back to the pack with all of Jordan Dawson ($4), Noah Anderson ($5) and Matt Rowell ($8) hot on his heels.
Referencing those top four favourites, David King asked his SEN Breakfast co-host Kane Cornes who he liked most to take out the AFL’s top individual honour.
Instead, Cornes is picking an outsider in Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, who is currently at $18 odds.
King: “Dawson, Daicos, Rowell or Anderson, who have you got for the Brownlow?”
Cornes: “Nasiah.”
King: “You’ve got Nasiah?”
Cornes: “I just think there's going to be a bit of a shock with him and his numbers, who have you got?”
King: “Well, I was with Anderson, but I'm warming to Rowell.
“He gets another three votes on the weekend, and having a look at their voting history, when Rowell gets big numbers, he tends to get the three.”
Cornes: “Worthy winners, either of those two, Rowell or Anderson.
“We'll see if they just take the votes off each other.”
Rowell picked up 25 Brownlow votes to finish eighth last season, and many believe he’s had a far better 2025 campaign in comparison.
The Suns duo are helped by the fact that they play three more games this home and away season due to their rescheduled Opening Round clash against Essendon. All the other 16 clubs have two more games to pick up votes.
