Champion Data reveals the 10 best and worst kicks in the AFL
Champion Data has revealed the top (and bottom) 10 kicks in the AFL so far in season 2025.
After nine rounds of football, Champion Data's Daniel Hoyne has investigated the best and worst users by foot in the competition, revealing the data on SEN's Sportsday.
Their kick rating takes into account the type of kick being taken by the player, assessing its difficulty and being judged on whether the kick reached a teammate.

Top 10 kicks in the AFL
1 – Bailey Dale (WB)
“The best kick in the competition, and by a long way,” said Hoyne.
“He’s kicking 10 per cent above expectations based off the type of kicks he is trying to pull off.”
2 - Max Holmes (GEE)
“Max Holmes is the second best kick in the competition.”
3 – Karl Amon (HAW)
4 – Jaspa Fletcher (BRI)
“Having a really good impact behind the footy this year.”
5 – Lachie Ash (GWS)
“We’ve talked about Lachie Ash this season.
“The second best player (in the competition), having a fantastic season.”
6 – Mason Redman (ESS)
7 – Riley Bice (SYD)
“Been a really good pickup for the Swans. Well done to the Swans recruiters for nailing that.”
8 – Zach Guthrie (GEE)
“Geelong have two of the top 10."
9 – Luke Ryan (FRE)
10 – Massimo D’Ambrosio (HAW)

Bottom 10 kicks in the AFL
1 – Liam Baker (WCE)
“The worst kick so far this season. Kicking 10 per cent below expectation.”
2 – Luke Trainor (RIC)
“First year player for Richmond. He is going at 9 per cent below expectation.”
3 – Jordan Dawson (ADE)
“Third worst kick in the comp this year.
“I see him high up on the coaches’ votes and his raw stat sheet looks good.
“I’m sure he’s doing a lot of things well without the footy, but in terms of what he’s done so far this year, he is the third worst kick in the competition.”
4 – George Hewett (CAR)
“Doing so much right in terms of what he has been able to do in nullifying his opponent and his ball winning stuff is through the roof.
“His ball use by foot is poor.”
5 – Liam Duggan (WCE)
6 – Finn Callaghan (GWS)
“Much better on the weekend but had a patch where he was going poorly.”
7 – Jy Simpkin (NM)
8 – Jake Soligo (ADE)
9 – Archie Roberts (ESS)
“Doing a lot right but can improve in that area in the game.”
10 – Nick Daicos (COL)
“10th worst kick in the competition this season. Meant to be going at 58 per cent, is going at 53 per cent. His accuracy in front of goal, meant to be going at 41 per cent, Nick is going at 29 per cent.
“17 shots at goal going at 29 per cent accuracy.”
