The Blackcaps have secured a 2-0 Test series win over the West Indies with a dominant showing at Bay Oval in Tauranga.
We entered the final session of the Test series at Bay Oval with the Blackcaps requiring just 2 wickets to take a 2-0 series win.
With the new ball approaching, Rachin Ravindra took the first over of the final session and was rewarded in his next over with the lbw wicket of Anderson Phillip.
The new ball was placed in the hand of Jacob Duffy hunting for another fifer this series, and three balls into his first stint after tea, Duffy bowled Jayden Seales and sealed the win.
Windies on brink of disaster as the 8th wicket falls
Lunch comes and goes, and the Blackcaps were eager to get back out there to try and bury the visitors.
Jacob Duffy didn't let the lunch break halt his momentum, grabbing his fourth wicket shortly after the resumption.
Another massive moment in the Test match as Shai Hope was dismissed in an abnormal way.
Ajaz Patel was the only one that offered an appeal for an lbw when his delivery struck Hope on the foot.
The umpire wasn't having a bar of it, but captain Tom Latham did end up reviewing and after a long wait, it ended up being out, much to the delight of the Blackcaps.
The wickets continued to fall in the second session, with Glenn Phillips getting in on the action, clean bowling Kemar Roach's wicket.
Blackcaps still have everything to play for, needing 2 wickets in the final session to win the series 2-0.
Five wickets fall within the hour at Bay Oval
We've got a Day 5 on our hands in Mount Maunganui, and the pitch is feeling the effects of that too.
On a day where the Blackcaps need 10 wickets, who will step up?
It's been a tough series for our pace bowlers, and it only got worse to start Day 5 as Michael Rae goes down with a lower leg injury, but he eventually was okay to resume.
The first bit of action of the day comes from an lbw and the Blackcaps finally found a breakthrough.
However, Roston Chase challenged the call and upon review, the ball was missing the wickets, not out.
After just over an hour of play, the breakthrough finally came for the Blackcaps, Brandon King dismissed by Jacob Duffy.
Not long after the initial wicket, the other opener is gone as well. The second grab of the day from Glenn Phillips, delivered by Ajaz Patel.
Kavem Hodge shortly followed his openers with a duck, being caught on the by bobble by Rachin Ravindra.
What was looking like a sluggish start to Day 5 at Bay Oval, turned exciting before lunch, as another wicket falls at the hands of Jacob Duffy, the leading wicket taker of the series.
Duffy adds another to the tally, dismissing Justin Greaves for a duck and the Blackcaps get halfway to their goal.
