Adem Yze will lead the Richmond Football Club until at least the end of 2028 after signing a contract extension.
Yze has put pen to paper on a further two-year deal from the initial contract which had him locked away until 2026.
It’s a positive sign for the Tigers after a fruitful 2025 season which resulted in five wins when many were suggesting they could go winless.
“Adem is a highly driven coach who is crystal clear with his plans, communication, and expectations of how he wants the game to be played,” Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said in a club statement.
“He has elite personal qualities, has built strong relationships over the past two years, and has a shared hunger for success with the playing group.
“Adem’s excellent understanding of AFL strategy and his sharp knowledge of the game are major assets, and they will continue to shine in the coming years.
“We are really excited about what is to come and look forward to seeing Adem continue to lead the group and this Club into our next period of AFL success.”
Yze has blooded 15 debutants in his two seasons at the helm, including nine in 2025 as the emerging Tigers continue to develop under his guidance.
The former Melbourne star and Hawks and Demons assistant has added Hawthorn premiership pair Luke Breust and Taylor Duryea to his coaching ranks for season 2026.
