β€œAll bulls--t”: Hayes puts Ka Ying Rising rumours to bed
Speculation has been rife regarding the health of Ka Ying Rising in recent days.
There is so much interest in the superstar Hong Kong sprinter that a fake social media account prompted major betting markets to temporarily suspend betting on the $20 million Everest.
It had been suggested that Ka Ying Rising had gone amiss in the lead-up to this Saturday’s richest race on turf at Randwick which turned markets on their head.
But trainer David Hayes vehemently insists that his gun galloper, who has won 14 of 16 career starts and 13 in a row, is totally fine after he worked nicely at Canterbury this morning.
β€œHe worked beautifully this morning, ate all his feed, he’s hydrated and his weight is great,” Hayes said on SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
β€œSo bring on the weekend.
β€œIt was a bit of a shock to the system which I thought funny at first, but then in the end I thought, β€˜wow’, this is out of control.”
Hayes says he has never seen anything like this in his time in the caper.
β€œNever, never,” he replied.
β€œI know it’s a Trump-ism but it was truly fake news.
β€œI was just 100 per cent wrong. All the horses for The Everest have to get vetted this morning and he got through with flying colours.
β€œIt’s not just him getting vetted, everyone is getting vetted for the race. He passed.
β€œHe’ll get vetted again on Friday, as every other horse will, and there’s just nothing to worry about. He’s fine.”
Hayes made it vehemently clear that all is ok and everything else is just rubbish.
β€œThe great thing about this morning was he was always planned to work, he worked every day and today he had his final gallop. Everyone could see there’s nothing wrong with him,” he saif further.
β€œHe’s been vetted. It’s just all bulls--t.”

Should there be an investigation into the situation?
β€œI think it warrants one. It’s a keyboard warrior with a bit of a joke that has affected so many people.
β€œIt’s caused a lot of stress.
β€œWhether it was a punting angle or something… but it’s not very nice when people’s accounts are getting hacked.
β€œThey say there’s a fake one of me ringing the owner on WhatsApp. I don’t know how you impersonate my accent. I don’t speak to the owner because he doesn’t speak English.”
Despite a drift in some markets, Ka Ying Rising remains a popular favourite for The Everest at Randwick this Saturday.
The barrier draw takes place on Tuesday night once the 12th and final slot is filled.
