Why the Titans could pull off an upset against their big brother Broncos
Andrew McCullough believes that the Gold Coast Titans have every chance of beating the Brisbane Broncos despite their poor form.
The Titans have had a difficult season, to say the least. They currently sit dead last on the ladder with a point differential of -112.
But despite this, McCullough thinks that the Titans are capable of pulling off an upset due to them having no pressure coming into the match.
“'Madge' Maguire will be certainly very nervous about his troops and who they are up against,” McCullough said on SENQ’s Breakfast.
“Throw the 17th position on the ladder out the window because the Titans could come up here and throw the ball around.
“There’s no pressure on them and I would be really nervous in this game.”
And recent form would be on the Titans’ side.
The Titans have won the last three games against the Broncos showing how dominant they have been.
Although in the pre-season this year the Broncos destroyed the Titans in a 50-12 drubbing in Toowoomba.
The Broncos will also have the return of Reece Walsh into the squad which should help assist in Brisbane’s efforts.
Speaking about Walsh, Corey Parker thinks his addition to the side will be extremely important but he should only play if fully fit.
“I don’t think Reece plays unless he’s 100 per cent right and by all reports at training he’s ready to go,” Parker said.
“I think he’s going to be a big inclusion, not because it’s Reece Walsh but what he’s able to do and unlock the players around him.”
The Broncos and Titans will do battle in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night. Kick-off will take place at 7:35pm AEST.
