We're still seven months away from the historic FIFA World Cup, but SEN's Mark Bosnich has gone early with his prediction on a winner.
For the first time in the event's history, 48 teams will contest an expanded competition which will be staged across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Joining the Boys of Summer to discuss the 2026 tournament, Bosnich made a massive call on who will hold up the Cup in July of 2026.
âTaking the gamble, Iâm going to pick England to win the Cupâ declared Bozza.
âEngland have been there and abouts over the last two European Championships and two World Cups. They were semi-finalists in the 2018 World Cup, and quarter finalists in 2022 in Qatar. They made the final in the Euros in 2024.â
England has previously won the World Cup once, on home soil in 1966, defeating West Germany.
Asked for his overall throughs on the draw, which took place last weekend (AEDT), Bosnich added: âI think itâs a good draw, Iâm satisfied with it.â
âThere are 48 teams, with the big teams spread out well amongst the smaller teams, who are consistently improving and becoming tougher competition.â
The FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off on Friday June 12. SEN has the exclusive rights to all the games.
