Thursday best bets from Luke & Pfitzner (17/07)
Miles Pfitzner & Cam Luke have your Thursday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Cranbourne, Grafton & Kembla Grange in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Miles Pfitzner
CRANBOURNE
Race 6 | 10. Eagle Express
Looking for better drawn horses at cranny today. Has been competitive in a lot better grade than this. Saving White Bear.
Race 8 | 10. Blacklist
Best of a bad bunch, this is a horrible BM64. Again drawn for options and anything around the last two runs had him right in this.
GRAFTON
Race 4 | 1. Albany Road
Looking for one on speed here. Drawn soft and gets maybe going that suits a bit better. Shinn on.
KEMBLA GRANGE
Race 3 | 8. I Am Gone
Every trial pervert in Australia will have found this. Do yourself a favour and go watch the replay.

Cam Luke
CRANBOURNE
Race 2 | 5. Gentle Steel
Was really good on debut and I think up to the 1200m is a big tick. I am a little weary about the gate but she has some to early and might be able to follow Night Beauty across and sit OSL. the gate is also a concern but I expect her to improve a lot second time here. Yes We Are beat her last start and is in the market in race 5 which again gives me more confidence that form can hold up.
Race 5 | 7. Du Clisson
Has had a break since running pretty well over the Bool carnival and she’s drawn well to stalk the speed today. Has jumped out well and the form around both of her races has held up well with multiple horses winning since. She looks progressive and even though Yes We Are will be a challenger I expect DC to win like she did on debut.
Race 8 | 10. Blacklist
Easier race, better draw and staying at the Mile is a big win. He is the speed map of this race and although it is a wide open race, Jye McNeil will be able to have him one out one back on the back of the speed although there isn’t a massive amount of speed on paper which is another reason he needs to be close! If he runs to the level he did last start he will be hard to beat!
GRAFTON
Race 5 | 3. Port Erin
Finally draws a gate so can squeeze forward from the inside alley. Was forced to go back in tougher races last couple from horrible gates so expect with a speed map that will be dominated by enterprise legend to be a lot closer. Is a 1000m specialist and gets a huge chance today to get a deserving win this prep. Good track won’t stop him and was scratched yesterday so respect that also!
Race 7 | 7. Quietness
Has been okay in first two Australian runs and peaks third up at a distance that is great for her. Can be quite tractable from a speed map perspective so it’s just about getting her in rhythm. The dry track is perfect for her and she is the horse on the rise and I think will be too good for them here.
KEMBLA GRANGE
Race 6 | 4. Zaragoza
Up the 1200m and on a good track shouldn’t be the issue it reads. I think from gate eight it will be able to allow the speed to go and work into the race and although in easier races, has run well over the 1200m before. The good track doesn’t read as well as wet track but those were in tougher races. Hit the line well in a BM72 last start making me think today is a nice fit. A lot of different form lines here but I think this bloke is the class runner of the race!
