Tasracing's Wednesday best bets at Launceston (10/12)

The Ladbrokes Summer Racing Festival rolls on with a big program in Launceston on Wednesday night, headlined by the $125,000 Conquering Stakes.
The support card includes the $75,000 3yo Trophy, and the night kicks off with the first 2yo race of the season.
The rail is at +7m, a shift from +5m for the meeting a week ago, and fine weather is forecast.

Race 7 – 5. Durazzo
It’s low-hanging fruit, but at $1.80 on race morning, Durazzo is the bet of the night. He was smashed in betting in the Newmarket, justified the support with a comfortable victory, and now meets all the horses that finished behind him far better at the weights under WFA conditions. He’s the state’s best horse, and I’ve marked him $1.50, which I suspect he starts closer to come jump time.

Race 6 – 2. Lady Galadriel
Lady Galadriel was uncharacteristically slow out last time, compromising her race. She savaged the line to finish just off the placings against key rivals she meets again here. From barrier 3, if she jumps well, as she usually does, she should box seat and have a similar run to the one that saw her win a $100k race here on Cup Day in February.
Best roughie
Race 2 – 13. Up To Tori
At $26+ on race morning, Up To Tori is certainly in the roughie category. Her first-up run in Hobart had merit, leading at a genuine clip and boxing on to finish third. She’ll strip fitter for that outing, and Launceston tends to be a track that favours the on-pacers far more than Hobart. Deep race, with some lightly raced horses, but I think if Up To Tori can land on pace without doing a stack of early work, she’ll give a sight.
