SENTrack: Thursday best bets from Mick Gannon & Cam Luke (17/04)
Mick Gannon & Sam Hyland are in the hot seat this Thursday.
The lads have taken a look at Wyong, Albury & Kilmore to find the Track family a few winners.
See their best bets below: 👇
Mick Gannon
WYONG
Race 7 | 4. Bellenth
Went to a new level first up over 1000m and looks well suited stepping up to the 1200m. Can overcome the wide draw early and sit on-speed before giving us a big sight late.
ALBURY
Race 1 | 2. Future Fund
Had been racing well below his best with genuine excuses. Drops in class back, and returns to a track where he’s produced his best. Settles beyond midfield and will get last crack at them in a small field.
Race 6 | 9. Medatsu
Lightly raced gelding who is yet to find his ceiling. Was unsuited in a wet track last start, but is sure to improve back on a dry track. He has a big run in him this preparation and now fourth up at peak fitness he can put his best foot forward. The lack of speed in the race is of some concern, but with a well timed ride he can be in the finish.

Cam Luke
WYONG
Race 3 | 1. Chiba
Taking the heavily backed debutant on with this bloke who will improve off a decent first prep! Trialled up well and will go control the race! I love having a crack at the 1000m which he didn’t do before and this is a little easier than those races. Tiberius is the spruik horse and has trialled really well so money in on but I’ll lean towards race experience and catch me if they can tactics.
Race 8 | 5. Shall Be
Having a really nice time of it before no luck three wide on pace in a tougher race last start. Shouldn’t have that issue with luck here and back to the 1000m after a six week break works. Toe into ground is a huge plus as is the claim of a jockey in form. He will dictate this race and hopefully be too good back in a race more suited to his ability.
ALBURY
Race 5 | 6. Persian Dancer
Stays the 1400m second up and I think that helps here! Drawn really nicely and smart use of the claim has the weight nice. Was good resuming and could sit even closer today maybe even outside Loose Love who I think will lead. Good track is perfect for him and he will be very hard to beat! Daze Off is fave but that gate combined with 1400m at a higher level as well, I am taking her on!!
Race 6 | 6. Matusalem (#CamLovesACup)
All the fancies have drawn horrid including this bloke but the speed map is muddy which sometimes end up meaning it will be on!! Good track is his sweet spot as is 2000m. Luck will play a part at some point but that’s the same for all the horses that can win and this guy was huge in the Canberra Cup! Will go bang late!!
KILMORE
Race 4 | 9. Qismah
I’m forgiving last start as soft didn’t suit her and back on good track we shall see a little more distance when she was great at Sandown. Shivermepink and Rebel Woman will both go hard so it will allow Qismah to run home hard. Going to need a smidge of luck from that gate as she loves to wind up when balanced so as long as she gets that the 1400 feels perfect for her to break the maiden.
Race 6 | 6. Vanishing
Sat three wide on a tempo last start and still hit the line well making me think 1100m will suit today. This is race easier than some she rolled around in last prep for old stable. Shamrock Bay will squeeze forward as she did last race Vanishing was in and I am hoping Liam Riordan can squeeze forward and have some luck which Ben Allen didn’t get. Think she speed maps well and will be in front of the fav who will need luck from gate one and I think by the time she gets it, this girl will have vanished by being too far in front of her!
