The Scorchers have crashed the Strikers’ New Years Eve party, with a comfortable win at the Adelaide Oval overnight.
Adelaide was in all sorts of trouble early on in the first innings, before some late-order hitting from Brendan Doggett (47 off 39) and Cameron Boyce (29 off 22) got them to a respectable 142.
However, the Scorchers only needed 14.3 overs to reel it in, with rising star Cooper Connolly named man of the match for his 48 off 35 balls and two overs for 13 runs.
Finn Allen (50 off 23) and Ashton Turner (35 off 18) were also big factors.
The Scorchers sit second on the BBL table behind the Sydney Sixers (as these two teams do every year), while the Strikers drop to 1-4 and sit 7th.
