Saturday best bets from Luke & Hyland (19/07)
Cam Luke & Sam Hyland have your Saturday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Flemington, Rosehill, Eagle Farm, Morphettville, Darwin & Bunbury in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
FLEMINGTON
Race 2 | 4. Bermondsey
Was really good last start behind a possible star and hit the line thinking the 1800m is lovely today. Was better late than the two favs today and that little flat spot he hit last time makes me think he is after even further. Drawn perfectly to have a great speed map and I expect him to be the horse great again late. If you like Arcora or Bayou Music here, you have to respect this bloke and I am with him today.
Race 4 | 10. Bold Secret
Has trialled four times and has looked really good and it’s obvious he’s a horse who is going to come to hand quickly. Always a concern on debut in particular down the straight but he will be closer to the inside running rail which I think gives him an advantage today. This is a really open race and I don’t mind Shining Smile but the issue is has to carry a big weight so I’m with BS to roll up on debut and go bang.
Race 6 | 6. Moby Dick
Has been solid the last couple after a Sydney visit. The form out of the last race as held up well (Zou Sensation/Keep Your Cool) and Moby Dick had to loop and hit line strong. Will be on best part of straight (grandstand side) and will be rattling late. La Fracas is the form horse but might be at his best on heavy and I think the inside really doesn’t seem to be best outside of 2yo races where they head hard rail.
Race 8 | 2. Relentless Voyager (each-way)Comes out of the mile race about a month ago, first time in Australia and actually ran pretty well considering it was too short and had a bit of trouble in the run when trying to warm up. He is going to appreciate even more distance but will get spat out the back of the 2000m and bide his time in a race that I think might have a little bit of speed. He might be a mile and a half horse, but he’ll hit the line really hard today and I think at a price of $9 is over the odds. It also must be said that he is my Melb Cup futures play and think he will progress nicely towards the first Tuesday in Nov.
ROSEHILL
Race 5 | 5. Spywire
I’m sticking with Spywire who I still believe is the best horse in this calibre race. I was a little burnt last time but can find an excuse, his second up form is pretty good in particular at this level, add the claim and a perfect barrier which means a perfect speed map and equals a win!
Race 9 | 1. Robusto
Had zero chance form that gate in the Straddie and then the opposite last start from inside where luck wasn’t had! Third up and soft track works nicely into his favour. He will have run of the race but will get to the fence again with the two drawn inside him expected to get back. Needs luck but hoping he gets it today and he will be too good!
Race 10 | 3. Cloudland (each-way)
Was great first up in race that was run to suit but I think this race might be likewise. Going to appreciate getting to the 1300m and a couple of these have had some chances recently. I think with the speed on again he will be strong with added fitness and be right in the finish. I’ve got a few in the quaddie in an open race but $10 for Cloudland is overs.

Sam Hyland
FLEMINGTON
Race 9 | 3. Harry Got Styles
Haz is a handy galloper and is a sharp horse over the five furlongs. He has had a while between runs so he will have spring in his step and he should get a get a good drag into this race, Motty is a top pilot and knows this horse, gee I think he is a good hope here.
ROSEHILL
Race 7 | 6. Impunity
Is ready for the mile and a half now and will be strong at the trip, he is effective on top of the ground and Chad on board is a positive.
EAGLE FARM
Race 4 | 7. This'llbetheone
Is my best around the country and this bloke has a great second up record, he did enough first up and the mile on a big track suits perfectly, he is a great bet.
MORPHETTVILLE
Race 4 | 7. Nicish
Looks a great chance on her home track and a track she has a good record at. Puts herself anywhere in the run and is an honest galloper, she will take beating.
DARWIN
Race 8 | 9. Vanguard Legend
Is having a great preparation after being very well placed. He looks as though the trip won’t be an issue and he is a horse on the way up, he will take beating.
BUNBURY
Race 1 | 2. Ripper Rupert
Will be improved with the time under his belt and has drawn to get a perfect run. Nice horse with good scope, all the best punters!
