Parker: Broncos have turned a corner despite loss
SENQ’s Corey Parker has given his reaction on the hamstring injuries to Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo following Brisbane’s loss to the Storm on Thursday night.
The Broncos lost 22-2 against Melbourne at AAMI Park, with the game shifting in the Storm’s favour following Reynolds and Mam's injury exits following their pursuit of Xavier Coates in the 21st minute.
With both players out, the Broncos would fall away with the Storm putting 22 unanswered points on the scoreboard to now sit on top of the ladder.
And to make matters worse, Cobbo also suffered a hamstring injury with only three minutes remaining in the match, adding to the Broncos’ medical woes.
Despite the loss for the Broncos, Parker believes that the side has turned a corner, having shown plenty of determination in the face of adversity through those injuries.
“I banged on about it yesterday, and I’ll bang on about it for the next three or four weeks," he said on SENQ Breakfast.
“Results are important. I understand that, but last night was about where they were from a team perspective, from an attitudinal point of view.
“I thought they were well and truly up for the fight there last night, and they didn’t get the chocolates, I understand that, and they got dealt a heap of bad luck.
“Last night, I think that team has turned a corner.
"They’ve got to do it again next week and they can’t use the excuse of ‘Well, we got a couple of players out’ because there are a number of sides with a couple of players out."
Parker also pointed out that the Broncos do have enough depth within their squad to be able to cover the losses of Mam, Reynolds and Cobbo.

“For the Broncos, they will have to regroup (and) get together,” he said.
“They do have depth in all those areas.
“Jock Madden still there, Josh Rogers is still there, Cory Paix is still there.
“So, we’ll see what unfolds over the next coming days.”
Brisbane’s next match is against their local rivals, the Dolphins. They will play off at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday.
