Scott Sattler and Mat Rogers have given their top three players who are coming off-contract, who are available for negotiations from November 1.
As the NRL Finals approach its conclusion in the not-so-distant future, attention is slowly turning towards the off-season as teams look to re-sign and add players to their list.
With that in mind, the two men have formed their own lists about who they think will be the three biggest signatures that could be available when November 1 rolls around.
“These three players that I’ve got, they win you a premiership,” Rogers declared on SEN’s Sportsday with Scott Sattler and Mat Rogers.
“If you can get them into the same side, you’re winning the comp.”
3rd for Rogers and Sattler – Harry Grant
Sattler: “I think he is one of the top three influential players in the game.”
Rogers: “He is the most influential player left in the finals series other than Nathan.”
S: “If Harry Grant did go to the open market, you’re starting a club (and) you’ve got a full salary cap..."
R: “I can’t go crazy cause I need other players, but I’m giving him $1.2 (million) every day of the week, maybe $1.3.”
S: “Yeah, I’m pushing towards $1.3 (million).”
R: “Because when Hughes went out before he got suspended, his game changed dramatically."
"He was doing so much more around the ruck and just taking heat off Tryan (Wishart) and Cameron (Munster). He was amazing, and I think we will see it again in the prelim final down there.
2nd for Rogers – Payne Haas
2nd for Sattler – Jayden Campbell
1st for Rogers – Luke Metcalf
Rogers: “He’s going to win your side a premiership.”
“I’ve got such a big wrap on this young man. He’s 26 years old, he’s been biding his time, Shaun Johnson leaves, and he goes in there.
“I mean, you look at that team prior to him getting injured. I mean, Mitch Barnett being out of that side was a big loss for them as well, but if they had Luke Metcalf, they are still alive in the competition."
1st for Sattler – Payne Haas
Sattler: “I’m saying Payne Haas.”
He builds that beautiful platform for you, and Jayden kicks off the back of that and gets some space with Harry Grant getting out of dummy half.”
Rogers: “I can’t believe you didn’t go Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and David Fifita in there (laughs follow).”
