“It will be confirmed”: Caulfield set to host 2026 Cox Plate

The 2026 WS Cox Plate will almost certainly be held at Caulfield.

SENTrack’s Gareth Hall, via The Straight’s Bren O’Brien, is reporting that Australia’s greatest weight-for-age race will head to Caulfield when Moonee Valley is under redevelopment.

“It will be at Caulfield, the Cox Plate,” said Hall.

“It will be there. It’s confirmed, but not confirmed, but it will be confirmed, if you know what I mean.”

Stage one of The Valley redevelopment begins after the 2025 Cox Plate and will force the racetrack to be closed for around 18 months.
