Nathan Buckley and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 2 of the 2025 AFL season.
Buckley and Whateley will each rank the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.
The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.
See the seedings below:
BUCKLEY
1. Brisbane
“Brisbane, although they allowed a side that we don't think are going to get many wins this year to school them in the first 45 minutes, they woke up and did what they needed to do,” Buckley said.
“They’ll have to lower their colours to a really good team before they move off that.”
2. GWS
“GWS have had a rest, and I don't see any reason that they've gone up or down from that.”
3. Hawthorn
“They’ve gone up to three.
“With the advent of other sides’ fluctuation in performance, it elevates Hawthorn's consistency in their first three games even further.
“So, I've got them up at three and they’re not even playing at their best, so I really like them.”
4. Geelong
“Geelong have dropped a spot.
“I still think that their performance was okay, they had a lot of young players in the side as well and they showed some fight to be able to come back.
“They don't like Marvel. They're not going to play a final there, and they're not going to be there that often.
“So, I’ve got them four.”
WHATELEY
1. GWS
“The Giants are protected seeded at one.”
2. Hawthorn
“Hawthorn go to two because they’re faultless at 3-0.”
3. Brisbane
“Brisbane are at three, don't loaf at the start of games. Win the game early and then loaf.
“They’ve got to invert the way they're going to be the standard bearer.”
4. Adelaide
“I put Adelaide at four just for the sheer fire and fun of what they did.”
