Most runs, most wickets and more: Steve OāKeefeās BBL|15 predictions
SEN ⢠ December 12th, 2025 9:42 am

Former Australian spinner Steve OāKeefe has made his big predictions ahead of the BBL|15 season.
OāKeefe played 103 Big Bash games for the Sixers, from the clubās foundation all the way until the BBL|13 season, where he retired two years ago.
Having played so much Big Bash cricket, OāKeefe has an intimate knowledge of the players and teams involved.
With that in mind, heās looked into his crystal ball and picked his top run-scorer, top wicket taker and premier for the upcoming season, which begins on Sunday when the Scorchers host the Sixers in Perth.
MOST RUNS
Chris Lynn (Adelaide Strikers)
āItās tricky for me to not just pick Sixers players,ā OāKeefe said on Sportsday NSW.
āBut do you know what, Iāve spent a bit of time with this guy overseas, and heās getting a bit older and wiser with experience.
āSo Iām going to go with Chris Lynn, this is a guy whoās made himself available to play the whole Big Bash.
āHe gets to play at the Adelaide Oval, where the average score is higher than everywhere else; he gets to face the new ball, and heās improved against spin, particularly leg spin.Ā
āSo, Iām tipping him to get the most runs.ā
MOST WICKETS
Tanveer Sangha (Sydney Thunder)
āMost wickets, itās hard to steer past some Sixers players, but I will, Iām going with Tanveer Sangha for the Sydney Thunder, the leg spinner.
āThe Thunder have decided that their home ground is going to be predominantly spin-based; theyāre going to slow it up.
āI think everyone thought T20 cricket would be the death of spin bowling, but itās the opposite⦠when you need 12 an over, taking down a leg-spinner is very hard to do.
āSo Iāve got Tanveer.ā
BBL WINNERS
Sydney Sixers
āIām going to say itās a Hurricanes v Sixers Grand Final at the SCG, and I think the Sixers will get it done.
āBut Iām giving a special note to the Heat and the Thunder, who I also think will have special seasons as well.ā
