Who have they beaten? Cornes and King go head-to-head over Bulldogs
Kane Cornes isn’t convinced by the Western Bulldogs after their 127-113 loss to Geelong on Thursday night.
While the Dogs have been one of the league’s best teams when they’ve fired in 2025, their record sits at 6-5 after losses to Collingwood, Fremantle, Brisbane, Gold Coast and now the Cats.
That fact alone led Cornes to question who the Dogs have really beaten in 2025, prompting him to doubt their status as a real premiership contender.
He discussed the club’s record this season with David King on SEN Breakfast.

Cornes: “The Western Bulldogs, I want to put this to you, this is the ladder position currently of the teams they've beaten.
“North - 17th, Carlton - 11th, St Kilda - 13th, GWS – 8th, Essendon – 10th.
“If we're going to have the discussion around Hawthorn (beating lesser sides), we have to have the discussion around the Dogs.
“They weren't disgraced last night at all, but I think you need to put it on the agenda.
“They have not beaten anyone. The facts are the facts.”
King: “You’ve got to keep things in the context. Last night they played one of the best teams on the road and performed unbelievably.
“That brand of footy against 90 per cent of teams is going to be a winning brand of footy.”
Cornes: “Unless it's against Brisbane, Gold Coast or Geelong.”
King: “I tend to disagree.”
Cornes: “They'll play finals, but you're not winning it if you're finishing 5th or 6th unless you're Brisbane.”
King: “They were all square with eight minutes to go. They've got Sam Darcy to come back, the best player in the competition forward of centre.
“There's just so much upside for them.”
The Dogs take the week off with the bye in Round 12 before facing a test against Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium in Round 13.
