14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has written himself into the record books with a ridiculous hundred for the Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans in the IPL
The left-hander’s century came off just 35 balls, and in reaching triple figures he became the youngest to hit a senior T20 century at just 14 years and 32 days.
Suryavanshi’s ton was also the second fastest in IPL history, behind only Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century in 2013.
The innings didn’t come against a poor attack either, with international stars Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan featuring for Gujarat.
Suryavanshi also could have reached his century even quicker if he didn’t work himself into his innings with nine runs off his first seven balls.
While eyebrows were raised when Rajasthan signed the then 13-year-old at the start of the season, no one is questioning their decision now.
