Under 30s only: How Australia’s Test XI would look if they had to go young

While the Australian men’s national side has been the world number one according to the ICC rankings in Test cricket for over a year, much has been said about the group’s aging status.
Out of our Test players to play in recent series, all of Usman Khawaja (38), Marnus Labuschagne (30), Steve Smith (35), Travis Head (31), Beau Webster (31), Mitch Marsh (33), Alex Carey (33), Mitchell Starc (35), Pat Cummins (31), Josh Hazlewood (34), Scott Boland (35) and Nathan Lyon (37) are all into their 30s.
With that in mind and so many of the nation’s stars closer to the end than the start, we’ve put together what Australia’s Test XI would look like right now if the only prerequisite was that players had to be below the age of 30 (if they were all available).
Check out the Under-30 Aussie XI below – team selected for home conditions.
