Top 5: Cornes and King rank their best players in the AFL
David King and Kane Cornes have ranked their top five players in the AFL after Round 21 of the 2025 season.
King prefaced his list by stating that number one must be the: “Most important and best player in the competition”.
The duo agreed on four of the top five players, while Cornes’ number one didn’t appear on King’s list at all.
Check out their picks from SEN Breakfast.

Cornes' 5 players
1 - Sam Darcy (Western Bulldogs)
“The best player in the competition is Sam Darcy.”
2 - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
“The second-best player is Marcus Bontempelli.
“Imagine being out of the top eight when you've got the best two players in the comp.”
3 - Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
4 – Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (St Kilda)
“I do think the big story is Nasiah.
“I do have him in my top 5. I wouldn't have had him anywhere near the top five 10 weeks ago, but I think he's just forced his way in.”
5 – Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)
“I think you're right with Cameron and I don't have Noah Anderson there yet because there’s a lot of good midfielders.”

King's 5 players
1 – Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
“If one is the best and most important player in the competition, that’s Nick Daicos for me at one.”
2 – Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
3 – Noah Anderson (Gold Coast)
4 - Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)
5 - Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (St Kilda)
