Locked In: Tom Morris expanded SEN role revealed
Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) has formally welcomed Tom Morris into an expanded on-air role across its television programs, following the conclusion of his non-compete period.
From this week, Morris resumes a prominent position within the Seven Network and SEG’s content slate. Following the announcement on-air with the 7AFL's coverage of the Carlton v Collingwood Thursday night blockbuster last night, he will join Seven’s AFL coverage on Sunday afternoons, and next week he will begin his role hosting the Wednesday night edition of The Agenda Setters.
Filmed and produced by SEG’s television production arm, Rainmaker, in their Southbank studios, The Agenda Setters has expanded to a third Wednesday night edition in 2026, after the shows successful debut as the Seven Network’s AFL panel show in 2025. The Wednesday edition of the program will be hosted by Morris in 2026, alongside Mitch Cleary, Nick Riewoldt and a range of guest panellists.
SEG Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison – who has hosted the Wednesday night edition of the program during the period of Morris’ non-compete – will continue his regular role hosting The Agenda Setters on a Monday night.
Morris will also appear on Seven’s upcoming 2026-27 Australian summer of cricket coverage, where he will resume the role of Chief Cricket Reporter.
SEG can also confirm that The New Ball – Morris' weekly cricket analysis show with Bharat Sundaresan, which is currently heard across the SEN network on Tuesday evenings – will be simulcast on 7mate and 7plus during 7Cricket’s 2026-27 Australian summer of cricket.
The New Ball - which combines cricket news, analysis and interviews with fun, lighthearted banter - can be viewed as well as listened to the day prior and during each day of the Australian men’s Test matches v New Zealand in December 2026 and January 2027.
Already a highly valued member of the SEG family, Morris’ insight, opinion and breaking news stories can be heard across multiple SEG platforms. He remains a key voice across SEN’s radio network, where he continues to feature regularly on some of the network’s biggest programs.
Morris is a regular on SEN Breakfast’s Monday edition of Fireball with Kane & Kingy (with Kane Cornes & David King) and co-hosts Locked In with Kane Cornes on Tuesdays.
Across the weekend, Morris is heard nationally as the co-host of AFL Nation on Fridays and Crunch Time on Saturdays, as well as featuring as a guest writer for the AFL Record.
Outside of footy season, Morris also contributes across SEN Cricket’s coverage as a host, news breaker and commentator across SEN’s home Test cricket broadcasts, and in a commentary role across ODI, T20I and BBL. Morris also commentates Australia’s international Tests that SEN holds the broadcast rights for, including upcoming tours.
Hutchison said Morris’ return to television would be much anticipated by the industry.
“Tom is one of the most influential sports journalists of his generation and an important part of the SEG family,” Hutchison said. “He brings credibility, authority and energy to every platform he touches. Having him hosting The Agenda Setters on Wednesdays, while continuing his involvement across SEN’s radio and cricket coverage, strengthens our content offering right across the week.”
Morris added that he was excited to continue building his role as a respected sports journalist across a myriad of platforms.
“Footy and cricket are my two biggest passions, so to have the opportunity to be part of live match coverage across both is something I dreamed of as a kid, and a big reason why I wanted to join Seven.
“I have loved The Agenda Setters as a viewer – it genuinely sets the tone for the footy conversation each week, and to now be part of that show and contribute to those discussions alongside such a strong team both on and off camera is incredibly exciting.
“The New Ball becoming a TV product as well as radio is so exciting. Working with Bharat is a privilege and bringing our show to the screens of Seven will be a great thrill.
“SEG as an organisation has been a huge part of my professional journey to date, I’m forever thankful for the faith shown in me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue working across such a strong suite of programs and platforms,” Morris continued. “SEN remains home to some of the best conversations in sport, and I can’t wait to get stuck into what’s ahead in 2026 and beyond.”
