Tanya Hosch’s future at the AFL has grown clouded amid claims of strained relationships.
Hosch has served as the league’s executive general manager of inclusion and social policy since 2016 when she became the first indigenous person to join the executive.
But her position at AFL headquarters has become uncertain in recent times due to what insiders said was increasing philosophical differences.
Hosch was not in Darwin for this week’s launch of Sir Dough Nicholls Round, but has otherwise remained engaged in ongoing AFL business.
She has not returned calls from SEN over the past two days.
In her time with the AFL, Hosch championed the first Indigenous player statue of Nicky Winmar and prompted a review of anti-vilification policy within the code.
She helped secure an apology for Adam Goodes from the AFL and delivered a new industry framework to help prevent racist treatment of players.
But there are doubts over how much longer Hosch will remain involved at executive level.
It comes with the AFL administration facing widespread criticism attack from coaches, clubs and fans over its management of the game after recent blunders.
