Sports Entertainment Network’s (SEN) 1116am in Melbourne has continued to grow in audience, according to GfK Radio 360’s Survey 3 results, released today.
SEN 1116am increased to 3.7% (All People 10+) total audience share, plus an increase in cumulative audience to 371,000 (up 50,000).
Other highlights included cumulative audience growth across the day, with increases in Breakfast, Afternoons, The Run Home and Sportsday, as well as Saturday morning programs, The Odds Couple and Off the Bench.
However, the Melbourne station’s highlight was arguably its AFL broadcasts and associated AFL Nation programming.
Significantly the Saturday (11am to 1pm) edition of Crunch Time - AFL Nation’s flagship pre-game program with a team including Gerard Whateley, Sam Edmund, Luke Hodge, Adam Simpson, Dermott Brereton and Kane Cornes – increased to a 6.9% total audience share, and moved to being ranked Number 1 for Males aged 25-54 with a 15.8% audience share.
SEN’s Saturday afternoon AFL Nation coverage delivered an impressive 7.8% total audience share, being ranked Number 1 for males aged 25-54 with a 20.8% audience share.
Meanwhile SEN 1170am in Sydney delivered a 1.5% share (All People 10+) and cumulative audience of 115,000, whilst Brisbane’s SENQ 693am grew its cumulative audience year-on-year (YoY) to 68,000 (from 42,000 this time last year), with a share of 0.9% (All People 10+).
SEN is also proud to be the #1 stream by unique listeners on the AFL.com.au platform, reinforcing its leadership in delivering live footy coverage to fans wherever they are.
Meanwhile, SEN Stadium – SEN's own technology that gives fans a latency-free in-venue streaming experience - continues to surge in popularity, with a 221% YoY growth in in-stadium minutes streamed during the first seven rounds of the 2025 AFL season.
In May, the unique audience of podcast listeners for SEN grew to a massive 812,404, amassing 3,774,328 downloads. That is a record number of unique podcast listeners for SEN in a single month.
SEN’s Group Radio Director, Sam Thompson, reinforced the network’s unwavering commitment to delivering premium live sport broadcasts on all platforms.
“We are now well into the 2025 AFL and NRL seasons, are coming off the back of a SEN’s commentary live from Lord’s for the World Test Championship broadcast last week, and are looking ahead to State of Origin Game 2 tomorrow night, and the Australian Men’s Test tour of the West Indies next week.
“We invest in providing premium broadcasts of live sport that are as accessible to as many Australians as possible – be it in-stadium watching games live, on radio, or streaming at home and syncing-up SEN’s commentary with their TV. We are encouraged by the performances across SEN 1116am and our digital channels this period, and look forward to continue to deliver to our audience across this blockbuster period of winter sport.”
