Saints provide tough injury update on Phillipou, Marshall, Howard and more
St Kilda has a growing injury list as we approach the beginning of the 2025 season, with rising midfielder Mattaes Phillipou to miss the start of the season with a stress fracture in his right femur.
The club confirmed on Tuesday that the 20-year-old pulled up sore on Friday and was sent for scans which discovered the injury.
It comes as Phillipou was starring over summer, playing more midfield minutes.
Dougal Howard meanwhile suffered a dislocated shoulder at training on Monday and will also miss the start of the season.

Hunter Clark (groin) and Liam Henry (knee) are close to returning to full training according to the club, but Henry remains listed as 4-6 weeks.
Rowan Marshall has been sent for scans as the club assesses the extent of a stress fracture in his pelvis, while also managing a back issue.
Paddy Dow is also sidelined indefinitely following a knee infection, while draftee Alix Tauru is not being rushed as he deals with a back issue.
