Richmond to select Balta despite pending sentencing

Richmond’s Noah Balta has reportedly been selected to make his first appearance for Richmond in the Tigers’ Saturday night clash with the Gold Coast Suns.

The 25-year-old is facing a sentence-hearing in five days time, where the defender could see up to five years in jail after pleading guilty for an attack on another man outside the Mulwala Water Ski club in December last year.

Despite the upcoming sentencing, SEN’s Tom Morris has confirmed that the Tigers will go ahead with Balta in the line up.

The club handed Balta a six-week in-club suspension that saw Balta available for two weeks prior to sentencing.
