The one thing Madge never wavered from to reach GF

Corey Parker has revealed the one thing that Brisbane coach Michael ‘Madge’ Maguire never wavered from during their finals series as they progress to the 2025 NRL Grand Final.
In his first season in charge of the side, the 2014 Premiership coach saw questions and speculation surrounding his coaching approach following a mid-season blip, which saw them fall out of the eight.
But the 51-year-old would help spark a late-season revival, which saw the Broncos charge into the final double chance spot in the finals.
And their form has continued into the finals, having beaten the minor premiers in Canberra and the reigning four-time champions in the Penrith Panthers to progress to their second Grand Final in three years.
Speaking on SEN's Broncos Radio, Corey Parker revealed that he spoke to Maguire on the morning of the match and the one thing that he noted was how Madge kept instilling the belief that they have yet to achieve anything into his side to help keep them motivated this season.
“I’ve spoken to Madge Maguire personally,” Parker said following the conclusion of the Broncos’ win.
“And the one thing he has never wavered from is that they haven’t done anything yet.
“This has been going on for the last five weeks. He has kept that same mentality and kept that same steely resolve about him.
“And today they are one step closer.
“I spoke to him this morning, and he said we are one step closer than where we need to be; we need to win tonight.
“They have done that; they have ticked that box, and they are off to another Grand Final.
“In his first year, Madge Maguire has copped it from absolutely everyone.
“They have won 12 of their last 14 games to roll into a Grand Final.”
The Broncos will start their preparations for next Sunday when they take on the Melbourne Storm in the 2025 NRL Grand Final at Accor Stadium.
