SEN • June 14th, 2025 8:00 pm

Kane Cornes and David King have graded each AFL team’s start to the 2025 season as the competition enters the mid-season byes.
Graded on SEN’s Fireball, the duo highlighted the positives and negatives from the first 13 weeks of the season to determine whether club supporters should be happy or disappointed.
With Sydney heading into their week off in 13th, Cornes and King had a closer look at the Swans.
Dean Cox’s men have five wins so far in 2025 however their performances have been well down on pre-season expectations.

History was against the Swans to begin the 2025 season, with no side winning a final one year after they lost a Grand Final by more than 40 points since 1995.
The Swans were smashed by 90 against the Crows in Round 12 but did bounce back with a 44-point win over the Tigers last Saturday.
“He’s got too much wrong early and sent things into a flat spin,” King said.
“The McCartin move I can’t get past. I think it is the worst move of the year so far.
“Had they sured up their defence earlier they may have stolen a couple of those games or won a couple of those games and kept their season afloat.
“We are only now just seeing warner in the forward 50 and Blakey as a high half back on the weekend.
“Yes, injuries are a factor I understand that, but I think they overate the players on their injury list.
“Heeney hasn’t been as dominant as he was last year warner hasn’t been as dominant as last year and they’ve lent on that next level of player that haven’t delivered."
