Kiwis rake in Commonwealth Games medals during final stages

The Golden Kiwi run continues in Glasgow as New Zealand rakes in seven Commonwealth Games medals in the competitions final days.
Gold:
The standout performance came from David Liti, who won gold in the men’s 110kg weightlifting final. Liti lifted a combined total of 389kg, securing victory in dramatic fashion and breaking the Commonwealth Games record in the process.
New Zealand also enjoyed success on the cycling track. Emma Foy and Jessie Hodges claimed gold in the women’s Sprint Para-Sport B Tandem, adding another major title to the Kiwi medal tally.

Silver:
In the women’s 4000m team pursuit, the squad of Sami Donnelly, Prudence Fowler, Emily Shearman, Bryony Botha and Ally Wollaston produced a strong ride to win silver, finishing with a time of 3:09.769.
Shot put star Tom Walsh also added to New Zealand’s medal haul, taking silver with a best throw of 20.56m.
Bronze:
There was further success in para-athletics, where sprinter Anna Grimaldi earned bronze in the women’s 100m Para-Sport T47 final, crossing the line in 12.46 seconds.
In track cycling, Nicole Murray secured bronze in the individual Pursuit Para-Sport C4-5, recording a time of 5:06.199 and breaking the world record.
The men’s 4000m team pursuit squad also stood on the podium. Marshall Erwood, Keegan Hornblow, Tom Sexton, George Jackson and Daniel Morton claimed bronze with a time of 3:52.310.
The total New Zealand medal tally grows to 21, with five gold, nine silver and seven bronze.
