David King has described the Carlton press conference on Friday as a "complete mess".
The Blues' head of football Brad Lloyd faced the media in the wake of the team's disappointing 50-point loss to Port Adelaide in Adelaide.
King felt that Lloyd missed the mark with some of his responses.
"Brad Lloyd had to front the media on Friday, and when you get one chance to ooze confidence and strength and stability and support for your coach, you've got to nail it," King said on SEN's Fireball.
"There is no second opportunity here. You have to stand at the front and you have to be clear, you have to be concise, you don't waffle, you can't be the blabbering blue and go for 10 minutes and meander around.
"Get to the point. They would have had a conversation overnight. They would have had a clear plan, ‘Right, how are we going to handle this?’
"The only way to handle it is to say, ‘Unequivocally, Michael Voss is our man’.
"So I want to step you through the the five questions that I think were a complete mess."
