"He’s had a really flat year": Cornes calls on Hawthorn star to lift

Port Adelaide champion Kane Cornes has put Dylan Moore in the gun this week, saying the vice-captain’s output needs to lift after a drop off in form to start 2025.
After a stellar 2024 campaign that culminated in 36 goals and a maiden All-Australian selection, the small forward’s start to 2025 has been disappointing, registering just the eight goals.
“I’m putting Dylan Moore in the gun. I think he’s had a really flat year” Cornes said.
“All-Australian last year thought he was extraordinary last year, 36 goals, he was sort of your 20 touches two goals kind of operator last year Dylan Moore.
“I still think he is working pretty hard, but his impact has sort of dropped off a cliff this year, every single statistical category basically down.
“He had 33 goal assists last year; he’s had two this year.
“His entries are down, his disposals are down, his scoreboard impact is down.
“So, Dylan Moore I would love to see him rediscover that form that we saw last year, he’s a bit of an off-Broadway character and everyone respects the way he goes about it.
“With a couple of big outs for the Hawks I think they need their All-Australian half forward to get the job done this week.”
Moore will be hoping for a turnaround in form as the Hawks go in search of their first win against Melbourne since 2018 at the MCG on Saturday.
