Epidural injections used for key Lion's mystery issue

OSCAR McInerney remains a week-to-week proposition in Brisbane as the ruckman battles ongoing soreness.
McInerney received an epidural injection earlier this season in a bid to improve his condition, but is still no certainty to play each week.
The big man, who missed last year’s Grand Final triumph with a dislocated shoulder, struggled against Gold Coast in Round 8 and in Sunday’s draw against North Melbourne in which fellow ruck Darcy Fort returned in.
McInerney has so far only missed the Round 3 win over Geelong due to illness.
It’s understood the Lions have no immediate plans to rest him and are instead being guided by their ruckman’s pain levels and his ability to complete main training sessions, which he’s so far been able to do.
The Lions face Melbourne and Max Gawn at the Gabba on Sunday.
