David King has tried his hand at predicting a few big storylines for the 2025 AFL season.
A couple of those storylines were on a positive note, with the SEN host tipping big things for both Gold Coast and Fremantle this season.
King expects one headline to read that Gold Coast play finals for the first time in club history.
Another that he thinks is a genuine possibility is Fremantle winning a maiden premiership given he believes the Dockers have the best list in footy currently.
“I think Gold Coast are making a serious charge at finals and Fremantle are potentially winning their first premiership,” King said on SEN Breakfast.
“They're the two big stories in a positive sense. I've been on the Gold Coast for years, I said they'd win a flag within 24 months last year, and I still think they'll be a big story.
“The highest they've ever finished is 12th. It's amazing really, this is it.
“With Fremantle, what more do you need? Seriously.
“We ranked the lists a couple of weeks ago, and they are in my opinion, the best list in footy right now. So, just get it done.
“They’re the big stories for me in a positive sense.”
Fremantle finished 10th and Gold Coast finished 13th in 2024. The Dockers begin their 2025 campaign with a Round 1 clash against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium, while the Suns begin with an Opening Round clash against Essendon at People First Stadium.
