Bulldogs yet to open talks with Treloar
The Western Bulldogs are yet to open contract talks with Adam Treloar.
Treloar’s five-year deal is about to expire and with only two games left in the home-and-away season there’s still no movement.
The 32-year-old has endured a wretched run with injury in 2025, suffering multiple calf tears and playing only four games.
But Treloar was last year named an All-Australian for the first time, finished equal runner-up in the Dogs best and fairest and ranked No.4 in the league for disposals.
When fit, he sits comfortably in Luke Beveridge’s midfield mix.

Treloar is open to signing a new contract on significantly lesser terms, but as things stand, he’s facing an uncertain future less than a year after the best season of his career.
Treloar’s messy exit from Collingwood in 2020, in which the midfielder was forced out as part of the Pies’ desperate salary dump, saw him sign this five-year deal at the Bulldogs.
That deal has involved Collingwood paying in the vicinity of $1.5 million over the next five years to watch Treloar play for a rival club.
The Dogs only committed to $600,000 a year, meaning the Pies had to make up the difference given they were due to pay Treloar $900,000 a season until 2025 had he stayed in black and white.
Treloar would look to teammate Tom Liberatore, who last year signed a one-year contract for 2025 and is poised to do the same again for 2026, as an example of the way forward.
But the manner in which Treloar ends the season could be critical. He is currently pushing hard for another return and is in the frame to play at VFL level this weekend.
The Dogs have been contacted for comment.
