Buckley and Whateley’s top four seeds after Round 6, 2025

Nathan Buckley and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 6 of the 2025 AFL season.
Buckley and Whateley will each rank the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.
The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.

BUCKLEY
1 - Collingwood
“I’ve got Collingwood, who haven’t been in there yet, at one.
“You’re always harder on your kids. I’ve loved what I’ve seen of them.
“Obviously after the Opening Round performance it’s been a way back to earn the trust. They’ve definitely done that.
“They’re in great shape.”
2 - Geelong
“They’ve been in there for four of the six weeks, but this is the highest I’ve had them.”
3 - Brisbane
“I’ve got Brisbane third. They’ve been either one or two until now.”
4 - Hawthorn
“I’ve got Hawthorn at four and they haven’t been out of the top four for me, but they’ve ranged from fourth to first and back to fourth.”
WHATELEY
1 - Collingwood
“I put Collingwood straight to one as well.
“It was the most compelling performance of the year so far.
“It wasn’t a one-week wonder, it had been a build and they got marked back because of the Opening Round performance against the Giants.
“It’s taken them a while to recoup that ground but they’ve done it in such a way that they are on top of the ladder.”
2 - Brisbane
“I have dropped Brisbane to two (after losing to the Magpies).”
3 - Hawthorn
“I’ve got Geelong at four and Hawthorn at three which is a little counter-intuitive given that Geelong beat Hawthorn yesterday.”
4 - Geelong
“Just looking across the six weeks I’m more comfortable having them in that order (Hawks ahead of Cats).”
Whateley added: “My seedings have a play-in game. I might have the winner of the Bulldogs v Giants go in next week if someone makes a mess of something.”
