Boland continues Victoriaβs ridiculous Test hat-trick legacy
SENΒ β’ Β July 15th, 2025 11:04 am

Scott Boland is officially the 10th Australian to take a Test hat-trick.
The right-armer took his three consecutive wickets on Tuesday morning (AEST) as Australia bowled the West Indies out for just 27 in the fourth innings of the third and final Test in Jamaica.
Bolandβs first wicket came at 7/27 as he had Justin Greaves caught at second slip. He then had Shamar Joseph trapped in front LBW after the umpireβs decision was overturned on review.
Then finally, he bowled the perfect delivery to break through Jomel Warricanβs defence, bowling the No. 10 as the ball clipped the top of the off-stump.
As well as becoming the 10th Australian, Boland became the 45th bowler to achieve the feat. But even more stunningly, he became the eighth Victorian to do so.
In fact, the only Australian player to take a hat-trick at Test level thatβs never played First Class cricket for the Vics is Glenn McGrath.
Boland joins other legendary Victorian names like Peter Siddle, Shane Warne, Damien Fleming and Merv Hughes to achieve the feat in modern history.
