We had to wait until February for the return of Israel Dagg on Sport Nation for 2025 - and he timed that reunion with co-host Scotty Stevenson perfectly - this week was full of storylines to get excited by
From the jaw-dropping NBA trade involving Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis, to Israel Adesanya's unsuccessful return to the UFC octagon, the NZ Warriors' first team list of the year ahead of the NRL trials, and the Super Bowl just around the corner. There was something for everyone that tune in from 6am weekdays.
This is the best from the week that was on Sport Nation's Scotty & Izzy:
The Black Knights
Auckland FC director of football Terry McFlynn joined us on Monday following the side’s 2-1 win over Macarthur at Go Media Stadium to keep their top ladder spot.
Super Bowl LIX
NFL writer Adam Rank joined the show on Wednesday to share what he thinks of the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs as we build up to Monday’s Super Bowl - where Patrick Mahome's Chiefs are vying for a historic threepeat.
Athletics
Also on Wednesday, Scotty & Izzy checked in with Athletics New Zealand chief executive Cam Mitchell to discuss a potential golden patch for Kiwi track and field athletes, with records tumbling at both age-group and national level.
Domestic Cricket
Canterbury batsman Scott Janett joined the show on Friday following their one-run Ford Trophy win over Otago in Dunedin, where he scored 115 while opening the batting.
