"Chanced our arm": Marnus on the Heat's incredible late win
The Brisbane Heat have kept their finals hopes in tact, securing an improbable victory over table topping Hobart Hurricanes.
Setting a tally of just 160, all likelihood pointed towards yet another Hurricanes victory, and with just one run a ball required within the last six overs - and eight wickets in hand - the contest appeared all but settled.
However, an almighty collapse saw Hobart fall short, with just two runs in the final over bringing their tally to a measly 157 - three runs short of completing the chase.
Speaking with Adam White on SEN Mornings, Heat star Marnus Labuschagne had little faith that his side could defend in the manner they did.

White: 37 off 36, with eight wickets in hand. Did you actually think you still had a chance?
“Probably leaning on the ‘no’ side,” Marnus admitted.
“But we did know that it got harder to bat at the back end, so we chanced our arm. I think Uzzie (Khawaja) did a great job, chancing our arm at the right time - bringing me on for that third over and bowling (Matt) Renshaw the next over.
“They sort of let us in, and we were able to go back-to-back wickets. They just kept falling and falling, and that last over obviously was unbelievable.”
Marnus admitted that despite claiming victory while opening the contest, the Heat would certainly have done otherwise if the toss had been won.
“We would have bowled as well; the wicket tends to get better there,” he said.
“It skids on a bit more. Last night, we were on the other end of it, we got the runs on the board, Nathan batted beautifully and we got to a total that we thought, if we get some early wickets, get Mitch (Owen) out, they don’t get off to a flyer, we would be able to hold on in the back end.”
With their win, Brisbane leap into the top four with one contest remaining, while the Hurricanes close the season with just their third loss, leaving top spot well and truly up for grabs.
