AFL launch investigation over a bottle thrown over the fence
The AFL have reportedly commenced an investigation after a fan threw an object onto the ground during the final moments of St Kilda’s victory over North Melbourne.
As Max Hall kicked a goal from the goal square after the siren to solidify the win for the Saints, a North Melbourne fan launched a water bottle onto the oval at Marvel Stadium, directed towards Hall.
According to Channel Nine reporter and SEN regular Tom Morris, the AFL has already commenced an investigation into the incident.
The bottle did not cross the goal line and failed to make contact with either a player or an umpire.
The last fan to be caught throwing objects onto the ground was banned from the AFL and AFLW for life, after a bottle was launched into a goal umpire.
