The Fremantle Dockers have confirmed that Will Brodie and Liam Reidy have both requested a trade from the Dockers in search of more senior appearances.
Brodie has requested a trade to Port Adelaide in a bid to reunite with Power coach Josh Carr who previously coached him at Fremantle.
Brodie was originally drafted to the Suns with pick 9 in 2016 and has played a total of 57 games in his career.
The 27-year-old midfielder made the move to the Dockers after the 2021 season and had a breakout season in 2022 for Fremantle, where he collected 20+ disposals in 20 separate games.
Will Brodie signed a contract extension with Fremantle post his stellar 2022 season, extending until 2027.
Will Brodie’s midfield talent is evident and now he wants Port Adelaide to be his next club.
Liam Riedy has requested Carlton as his preferred destination.
The ruckman was picked up by Fremantle in the 2022 Rookie Draft and has played three AFL games for the Dockers.
The 25-year-old played 52 games for Peel Thunder and was a part of Peel’s 2024 WAFL Premiership side, alongside Brodie.
“We respect the requests from Liam and Will to seek trades in a hope to get more senior opportunities at AFL level,” Fremantle Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty said.
“Will is obviously contracted for 2027, so we will work through that during the trade period to facilitate outcomes for both the players and the Club.”
