St Kilda has officially registered an interest in Hawthorn’s Cam Mackenzie as the Saints’ shopping spree continues.
Mackenzie has only played 12 games this year and has featured 46 times for the Hawks across his first three seasons.
His most recent AFL game came in Round 18 when he was subbed off in the loss to Fremantle in Perth. It was the second time he was taken out of an AFL game by Sam Mitchell this season.
Mackenzie has a previous connection at Moorabbin, with the former Sandringham Dragons product originally a member of the Saints' Next Gen Academy. The Hawks swooped with pick 7 in 2022 at a time when clubs could not match early bids on their NGA products.
While Mackenzie has been overlooked by the Hawks in recent weeks, his form at VFL level has been solid, averaging 24.7 disposals from seven games for Box Hill this season.
Contracted until 2026, the Saints would have to part with a first-rounder to get any deal done as they embark on a potentially groundbreaking trade period.
