Will Gold Coast break their club All-Australian record in 2025?
The Gold Coast Suns are in the midst of what may be their strongest season yet, entering their bye round with a record of 8-4 with a game in hand.
Coach Damien Hardwick has seemingly created an environment where Suns players are reaching new heights and generating more impact and you would expect this to translate to record All-Australian blazers for the club.
So far, Gold Coast as a club have had seven overall All-Australian selections, but they've never had two or more in one single season.
With that in mind, the Suns could very well have multiple All-Australians for the first time in one season this year. Here’s a closer look at three players who have made a compelling case so far.
Noah Anderson – Midfield maestro
Noah Anderson has been the cornerstone of the Suns’ success in 2025. Averaging an impressive 29.9 disposals per game, Anderson’s consistency and impact cannot be overstated.
His leadership, both on and off the field, has been instrumental in driving the team forward.
Without his commanding presence in the midfield, the Suns’ position on the ladder might look very different.
Anderson’s form and influence make him a frontrunner for All-Australian selection this year. Midfield teammates Matt Rowell and Touk Miller are also in the running.
Ben Long – The surprise forward spark
Ben Long has been a revelation for the Suns this season, delivering consistent performances in the forward line.
With an average of 2.2 goals per game, Long has been pivotal in converting opportunities and providing crucial scoreboard pressure.
This has undoubtedly been his career-best season, showcasing a level of consistency and composure that has elevated his game.
If he maintains this form, Long is a genuine chance to earn All-Australian recognition.
Ben King is also a contender for a key forward role as he enters Round 14 ranked third on the Coleman Medal leaderboard (33 goals).
Sam Collins – The defensive stronghold
In the backline, Sam Collins has redefined what it means to be a key defender at Gold Coast.
Averaging 3.3 intercept marks per game, Collins has been the backbone of the club's defence.
His reliability and ability to shut down key opposition forwards have been critical to the team’s structure.
If he continues at this level, Collins is well on track to be considered among the league’s elite defenders and could earn his place in the All-Australian Team.
With all this hype and pressure, can the Suns cope playing in the cold winter parts of the season with finals football within reach?
With a mission to bring home a maiden premiership in the near future, the Suns are definitely giving the Gold Coast Fans a long-awaited reason to believe success is on its way.
