Why Titans must win to alleviate mounting pressure
SENQ’s Corey Parker has placed the Gold Coast Titans under pressure to perform in Friday night’s clash against the Newcastle Knights.
The Titans have had a calamitous week as they find themselves languishing in the bottom third of the ladder.
After news of David Fifita being dropped last week, allegedly due to wanting to play on the left side it has been reported that he wants a move out.

However, this was swiftly denied by the Titans despite murmurs continuing.
There have also been reports on some details relating to coach Des Hasler’s contract, which is believed to contain a performance clause that the Titans can get rid of Hasler if they do not make finals this year, according to Michael Carayannis.
Corey Parker believes that the Titans must get a win against the Knights to avoid the pressure becoming insurmountable for the Titans.
“Now that it is out in the press, now that it is out in the media; the clauses in contracts, the lack of performance; I can’t go past the Gold Coast Titans,” Parker said on SENQ’s Breakfast.
“They take on the Newcastle Knights, they haven’t won there (Newcastle) since 2016, and it’s going to be a difficult task.
“The Knights found some form last week at Magic Round, they go down there to play Newcastle.
“If they go 0-6, it just gets louder and louder and all of a sudden things just get spoken about more frequently.”
The Titans will look to avoid six losses in a row for the season when they take on the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium at 6pm AEST.
SEN will have live commentary for this match, which will be available through the SEN app from 5pm AEST.
