Why leading form analyst is happy to be against the Melbourne Cup equal favourite
Star tipster Mick Gannon is giving Buckaroo very little chance in the Melbourne Cup.

Gannon believes the wider barrier will be a big disadvantage for the Chris Waller trained galloper who heads to Tuesday’s Cup in fine form having run second in the Caulfield Cup last start.

Regarded as one of the best form races, Buckaroo produced a huge run in the Caulfield Cup behind the winner Duke De Sessa and he’s been met with heavy market support in the Melbourne Cup.

But from barrier 21, Gannon is more than happy to be against him.

“I’m happy to be against Buckaroo from that draw,” Gannon told *SENTrack*.

“He’s clearly the horse you have to beat but that’s a hard draw to overcome with a jockey on board that is historically quite negative.

“You know where he’s going to be and that’s last. If they go a slow tempo you can’t overcome that and you need an angle for the race and that’s my angle.”
