Why Alexander expects Tigers "disrespectful" behaviour to lead to another wooden spoon

Up to five Wests Tigers players have been issued official breach notices, with two needing to front the board over reported fitness issues.
These players have allegedly failed to meet strict fitness standards agreed upon by players in last season’s exit interviews, after taking home their third consecutive wooden spoon.
Greg Alexander told *SEN* he was shocked by the news, and extremely disappointed by the players and team.
“If that is true, what does that say about the attitude about those Tigers?,” Alexander said on *SEN1170*.
“That is a massive problem for the side that ran last last year.”
With the NRL off-season at the shortest it has ever been, Alexander believes there is no excuse for players to slack off.
“What player these days turns back up to training after a couple months off unfit and to the point where they are asked to front the board?,” he added.
“It's not the 80s.
“How disrespectful to their teammates to turn up in the state they are in.
“They are snubbing their nose to thousands of fans.”
The Tigers will enter 2025 with new recruits including Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva, however Alexander expects this disappointing player behaviour will see the team at the bottom of the ladder once again.
“A couple new players are not going to solve the problems the Tigers had last year,” he added.
“Part of the answer of being very good at this game is being as fit and strong as you can be. Where is the drive?
“If I am a Tigers fan waking up to this story, I am gutted.”
