With the Warriors’ right-edge defence a concern for supporters ahead of their opening finals clash, assistant coach Stacey Jones is confident the issues have been addressed before they face the Dolphins’ dangerous left edge.
Jones said the squad had worked hard at training this week to fix the defensive leaks before their finals campaign begins.
“The boys have certainly put in a lot of work this week to get it right,” he told Sport Nation’s Millsy & Guy.
Jones rejected the idea that the problem could simply be pinned on missed tackles from edge defenders.
“If we can pinpoint one area, we would, but there's so many things, there are so many variables around why our team has leaked a few points the last few weeks.
“It's not just about the guys on the edge, missing tackles, it's about what's happening on the inside too sometimes.”

The Warriors have also had to manage several changes throughout the team, with injuries forcing players to adjust to new positions and combinations.
“Chanel and Te Maire, our three man edge defenders, they hadn't played a game of footy for a few weeks, so they got a game under their belt," he explained.
“New winger combinations, Leka didn't play last week, combination wise too, so hopefully we've settled on where we're at at the moment.”

With the competition now essentially reset, Jones said the Warriors were treating the finals as a fresh start.
“It's like the competition starting again, push a reset button and eight teams are season over and then eight teams will continue on and that's the best time of the year as far as footy goes.”
